IXWA Friday Night Beatdown – January 20, 2017
Sleep Train Arena, Sacramento, California

​[The scene opens to a very secluded hallway inside the back of the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California... The hallway is all but empty except for "The Bad Seed" Bishop Kroft, stretching up against the wall... Bishop is already in his normal wrestling attire... The hallway is completely silent as the camera man moves in closer towards Bishop... Bishop notices the camera but doesn't speak a word as he carries on with his stretching...]

KK: Look, there is he is right there! I told you two, find a quite, secluded place and you would find Bishop...

[The sounds of The McGraff twins and Knight Kroft completely overtake the silence as the camera man pans to see Knight and the twins coming down the hallway... Mandy and Kimberly both have microphones in their hands as they step into the shot ready to interview Bishop... Knight stands out of the camera shot but he can still clearly be heard...]

KK: I am not sure if he knows or not... He doesn't really do a whole lot of current event watching himself... Ask him though...

MM: Bishop, we are wondering you had heard the news that IXWA Global Heavyweight Champion, Mike Jamison, has cut all ties with IXWA and that the Survival of the Fittest Tournament will now be to crown a brand new IXWA Global Heavyweight champion?

[All of the sudden "The Bad Seed" stops his stretches and walks right into the face of Kimberly McGraff...]

BK: I swear, Mandy this better be some sick and twisted scheme you two cooked up with my idiot brother...

KM: Ummm, sir, I'm actually Kimberly and she is Mandy... She's the one that asked and all, but really it is not a scheme... Jamison has quit and the tournament is for the title...

[Bishop scoffs as he backs a step back from Kimberly and looks off camera at Knight Kroft...]

BK: You knew about this and you didn't say a word? You had this kind of information and you decided to sit on it? 

KK: Well I had heard a rumor that Jamison quit but I didn't know for a fact till the announcement was made about the tournament...

BK: So what you are in essence saying to me, is you, my manager, the person who is supposed to be my advocate, had possible knowledge that the man, the champion, who last show I wrestled to a time limit draw, had quit the IXWA?

KK: Like I said, I heard the rumor but I figured you needed to make sure to prepare for your number one contender series with Ryan Keys... I mean, come on, the guy is no slouch, he did take out a few champions himself last show and he is a champion also himself...

BK: I do not give a good damn about how much of a slouch Ryan Keys is or not right now! The moment you were told Mike Jamison had left the company you should have been on the phone getting that belt shipped to us! I am the rightful owner of that damn belt... I ran Jamison out of this company when he realized that he was being passed up by new talent! There shouldn't be a best of three series with Ryan Keys because there is nothing to be number one contender of any longer because you let the moment go by...

MM: I think what he is trying to tell you is he knew Ryan Keys was going to be a tough opponent this week, just like Jamison was last week...

BK: Mandy, Kimberly, Kimberly, Mandy, Manberly, Kimdy, I really don't care much anymore who is who, nor did I care before, but I am pretty sure the two of you might need to walk away before I start planting "Seeds of Doubt" back here to everyone I see... [points off screen]... You, you moron stay!

[Kimberly and Mandy quickly high tail it off screen as Knight steps into camera view...]

KK: I just didn't want you to lose focus and break the momentum that started for you last show... You walked in the door, took the IXWA Global Heavyweight champion to his breaking point, dropped him with the "Seed of Doubt" and were placed in a number one contender series... This company has the right idea getting behind a Kroft and I wasn't going to let anything knock you off those rails...

BK: You just do not get it do you? Ryan Keys, you are correct is a tough competitor, he is the IXWA Light Heavyweight champion... He defeated a string of champions last show at our rebirth show... But what he didn't do, were the things I did... He didn't go toe to toe, hold for hold, more for more with the Global Heavyweight champion... He didn't go twenty minutes to a time limit draw with, at the time was the best that this company had to offer... He didn't stand inside that ring and make himself an instant contender with just one kick of a damn jaw... 

[Knight begins to open his mouth as all of the sudden Bishop nails him with the superkick, the "Seed of Doubt", flooring Knight right onto the cement... Knight lays there out of it as Bishop looks back up at the camera...]

BK: Ryan Keys, I want you to take a good hard look at the things that are happening now in IXWA... Remember what happened last show when I made myself an instant player here in IXWA with my skills and my actions... Understand what it was that you did not do last week... You had the chance to walk that aisle and get in that ring as well and you made the life saving decision to stand back and watch... Let's hope that this week you still have the same mindset... Let's hope and pray that the little bit of success this company is painting on you hasn't yet shot to your head... Because tonight, I was already coming into our match to hurt you... Now, I am coming into this match to plain and simple, dispose of you... I, Bishop Kroft, should be the man who is rightfully champ, as I am the man who made the champ high tail it right on out of here... You, Ryan Keys, have now become a marked man with limited time... I laid out Jamison last week, hell, I have even laid out my own damn brother this week... I hope you realize most things in life come in three's and you are going to be "Seed of Doubt" number three here in IXWA tonight...

[The camera fades to black as Bishop steps over his brother and out of the scene...]

[The Wang Dynasty lay in to an unidentified team with a pair of chair shots! Bang Wang leaps up to Chang Wang's raised hand to slap him five...]
 
#Walking through town is quite scary#
#And not very sensible either#
 
[Dylan Black floats through the air to the ringside area and lands on Scotty Bloom... He spins up to his feet and leans back against the guardrail, the fans at ringside celebrating with the death-defying highflier!]
 
#A friend of a friend he got beaten#
#He looked the wrong way at a policeman#
 
[Brian Styles applies a VICIOUS crossface to Ned Norton, screaming bloody murders as he wrenches back nearly snapping the man's neck!]

[Ryan Keys, dripping in sweat, hoists Archibald Smythe up and hits the Master Key and then gets to his feet and Brian Styles rips him in half with a blindsided spear!]

[The Wang Bros driving The Masked Terror's head into the mat with a devastating double DDT!]

[The Vegas Kid seen with Scotty Bloom on the ring apron, he suplexes Bloom off the apron and out of view!]

[We see Alice Harris leap off the ring apron with a flying DDT on Devil Tokyo!]

[Scotty Bloom sitting on the top rope... The Masked Terror then delivers a top-rope powerbomb, driving Bloom to the canvas!]

[Brian Styles fights to get The Masked Terror into position and then drills him into the canvas with the Pandy Plunge...]

[A bloodied and battered Brian Styles pulls Mike Jamison up... And gets nailed with a knee to the mid-section!]

[Bishop Kroft holds The Great Kazama up! Kroft punches Kazama -- laying him out in the ring! Kroft went to cover, but Styles in from behind nailed Beauty with a boot to the back of the head...]

[Chaos in the ring as Ryan Keys and Bishop Kroft are clawing through the sea of turquoise shirted IXWA security! The guards hold the two men apart, until Brian Styles springs out and nails Keys with a steel chair shot to the head!]
 
#I PREDICT A RIOT!#
 
[Double Entendres are shown jabbing their jaws on the microphone, Tiberius Nixon exchanging heated words with Chaos Theory! Security storms the entrance ramp and hauls Dick Ryder & Mike Hunt out of the building!]

[Through a window we see a man tied in a straight jacket, viciously throwing himself around the padded room... He rushes the window, smashing his head repeatedly against the Plexiglas, drawing blood from his own forehead... He rips through a silent scream: The man is clearly insane!]

* FRIDAY NIGHT BEATDOWN *

TM: We’re here with our second edition of Friday Night Beatdown of 2017... And we open up proceedings with the news that not only is the IXWA Bad Ass Babe Championship vacant after Alice Harris was pined on the last Beatdown and subsequently suspended indefinitely from the IXWA but also the news that Mike Jamison the man with the IXWA Global Heavyweight Championship has decided to cut ties with the IXWA...

JT: So – we don’t have a champ?

TM: Pretty much so... I believe Tiberius Nixon will be out here after the first match to let us know how things are going to be resolved...

JT: Good... We need to know... 

TM: Indeed... OK... Now for that fir---

["I'm Made of Wax, Larry, What Are You Made Of?" by A Day to Remember plays while blue and white lights strobe over the stage... As Ryan’s entrance video is shown on the ExtremeTron the man himself walks out to take center stage... With a bright smile playing on his lips he raises his newly found again IXWA Light Heavyweight Championship to hear the loud cheers escalate... Dressed in his tight black ring trunks, knee and elbow pads, and finishing it off with his ‘key hole’ designed boots Ryan looked ready for action tonight... His tattooed arm clutches the title over his shoulder as he slowly makes his way towards the ring, hearing the warm welcome from the California crowd and doing his best to slap hands with each of the fan at his reach from either side of the aisle... Getting into ringside, Ryan enters the ring and climbs up the ring post to lift the title for the fans once again... Once he was down he walks over to the ring announcer with a smile as he gets handed a microphone... Ryan looks around basking in the many cheers surrounding him as he waits for the music to turn down...]

Ryan: Guess what I found again!

[He shouts before he pauses to look around at the cheering crowd that was present at IXWA Friday Night Beatdown... Clutching at his found title he moved it around his shoulder...]

Ryan: It felt good when it was handed back to me, thank you too all those good people that just threw at me backstage... I was so grateful... Anyway, I don’t come out here a lot, but things have been happening around here and I wasn’t sure if you all knew... My megaphone was taken away so a microphone is the next best thing... And I wanted to show this off again...

[Ryan raises the title over his head making the fans cheer again, and then start a chant...]

Crowd: Ry-an Keys! Ry-an Keys! Ry-an Keys!

[He smiles and nods at the many chants as the fans finally get to see Ryan back and still a champion... Slowly lowering the title he held the microphone up...]

Ryan: It was a hell of a rush to be back here and perform again in the IXWA; it brought back a lot of memories... But this place wouldn’t be back without the endless support from all of you guys, so thank you... The IXWA is back and we have a clean slate... But that still means that I am the longest reigning IXWA Light Heavyweight champion...

[The slightest hint of emotion brings a louder cheer from the fans... And the young champion tries not to get overwhelmed...]

Ryan: Give or take a few details of course... But listen, listen, listen... I am here to talk to you guys about what happened on the last Beatdown... You guys had a front row seat at what could have possibly been the hardest match that I have ever been a part of... And that same note it was the hardest win I have gotten... We all know that Alice Harris isn’t part of us anymore... It was nothing against her, she was a great champion in her own right, but she was at the wrong place at the wrong time... She gave me a fight and I responded back just to be fair... And in the end she fell... But that could have been any one of us... I for one am glad to still be here... And I came back with a surprise... You all know what I am talking about, but for those that don’t I’ll just give you a quick glance of what happened at the last Beatdown’s main event... 

[He raises his hand to show the ExtremeTron change from it’s current view to a clip of the Main Event from the last Friday Night Beatdown... And it shows a very upset Bishop Kroft losing his mind in the ring after Tiberius Nixon announced their match... As the clip fades the crowd reacts with a loud cheer as the chants start up again... With a smile playing across his lips he raises the microphone again...]

Ryan: Now that moment right there was priceless... To tell you guys the truth I had no idea what was going on the entire time, but boy did I have a laugh... To make things better I got a not so personal compliment by our new CEO Tiberius Nixon, and to top it all off I got placed on a once in a lifetime match for the IXWA Global Heavyweight Championship at Survival of the Fittest... All I got to do is beat Bishop Kroft at least twice to get it... Now after the night I had I know who I am voting for to win...

[The crowd changes their cheers for boo’s when Bishop’s name comes up... Though he can hear a few cheers in his favour...]

Ryan: Now, come on... Bishop has every right to be in this match, he beat the man to beat... Fair and square, I swear, look it up somewhere... He can actually fairish... I was just as surprised as every one of you... It was amazing... But instead of waiting around for our match to start I thought why not hype up the crowd right now!!!

[The fans cheer louder at the soon to be match... These two wrestlers going at it means that the crowd will get to see a great battle...]

Ryan: Because my reign as the IXWA Light Heavyweight champion has gone on long I think that a new challenge is just what I needed... And after I get my match against another champion I can set the record for being the first IXWA Global and Light Heavyweight champion... It would really make it hard for people to guess my true weight, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it... For now let's focus on the 3 falls match tonight...

[He takes a small pause as he carefully thinks of his words... Though there was one thing that was clear... Ryan was going to fight back to keep his championship, no matter who it is against... Yet he will do anything to go ahead in his career...]

Ryan: It’s pretty simple... The one that pins, submits or count outs the other at least 2 gets declared the winner... Bishop and I can understand that, but I am here to give Bishop a challenge... Now I know that we can both pin each other just fine, count outs are a coward’s way to a win... But I challenge Bishop to try and make me tap... No one has been able to do it before... I don’t know why... Maybe it’s my never give up spirit... Maybe it’s because I am stubborn, it’s definitely because I am flexible as hell, and truer than that is that I am just a great competitor... I’m sure those are hard to come by but you all will get to see a few of them tonight... Hell we may even see a new Global champion be crowned... Or better yet I could strip down and stand here only wearing my belt for the rest of the night...

[The faint sound of the female audience members cheering made Ryan smile as he draws to a close...]

Ryan: But let's leave that for when the show is desperate for ratings, because this is probably all the time that I have out here... You guys have been amazing, and listen, listen, listen... This has been your IXWA Light Heavyweight champion speaking, so let's make some noise happen tonight!!!

[The California crowd cheer loudly once more, and another chant is then heard...]

Crowd: Ry-an Keys! Ry-an Keys! Ry-an Keys!

[As the chant continues, Ryan smiles as he looks around at the fans once more, before lowering the microphone and climbing up to the second rope to raise the title over his head... As he basks in the end of his celebration he holds the title close before stepping through the ropes and heading up the aisle, slapping the hands of the cheering fans until he goes backstage...]

TM; well that was interesting... 

JT: I sometimes wonder if that guy really knows what’s going on around here... 

TM: What do you mean?

JT: Seems to think his match against Bishop Kroft is a 2 out of 3 falls match...

TM: Well, no it’s the first in a best of 3 series... 3 singles matches over consecutive weeks...

JT: I know that... You know that... Nixon knows that and so does Bishop Kroft but Ryan Keys doesn’t seem to have quite grasped the concept...

[The scene cuts to the middle of the ring where "Sparkling" Joey Diamond is standing, resplendent in a dark blue suit with a gold IXWA logo embroidered on the breast of the jacket...]

SJD: This contest is scheduled for one fall... Already in the ring, hailing from Tokyo, Japan and weighing in at 209lbs --- The Great Kazama...

[Mot much of a reaction from the crowd...]

SJD: His opponent... 

[The lights suddenly go out and the pyrotechnics fire off in order all the way across the entranceway...]

SJD: Introducing the man known as the showstopper extraordinaire! Wighing in at 244lbs and hailing from Los Angeles, California, here is...

[The fans immediately begin throwing their hands up and cheering wildly as pictures of Shawn begin to appear on the big screen...  Finally Shawn walks out and raises both of his arms and then leaps into the air...  As he lands the pyro explodes from all four cannons again at once...]

*** B O O M ! ! ! ***

[The lights immediately come back on as the music continues... Shawn Watson is wearing is trademark black tights with the neon white star, encircled by two neon pink atomic rings... He smiles broadly as he shakes hands and greets fans all the way towards the ring... He reaches the ring and throws his hands way up in the air as the fans shower him with cheers... He walks to every side of the rings to work the crowd... After a bit, he settles down and waits for the start of the match...]

Now I could stand out here and say that he couldn’t handle the IXWA schedule but that would be wrong as he has proved repeatedly in the past that he most certainly can... Truth of the matter is – Mike’s enthusiasm for the IXWA had dissipated to the point that he called me a week ago and we met for a beer and he handed this back to me...

[Nixon puts the briefcase down, snaps it open and pulls out the IXWA Global Heavyweight Championship belt... He drapes it over his left shoulder...]

TN: Now, typically at this time of the year the IXWA audience is concentrating on the Survival of the Fittest tournament for the right to become the #1 contender to this championship... And this year will be absolutely no different... I intend to find EIGHT of the finest athletes that are currently lacing up wrestling boots and pit them against each other in a true Survival of the Fittest... I ca also exclusively reveal that the first person to be announced for the tournament is the man that debuted just now with a win - "Showtime" Shawn Watson

TN: However – this does mean that we still have a vacant IXWA Global Heavyweight Championship... Therefore it gives me the greatest of pleasure to announce that a triple threat elimination match will take place at the 2017 Survival of the Fittest supercard and that it will feature current IXWA Light Heavyweight Champion – Ryan Keys, newcomer "The Bad Seed" Bishop Kroft and the man that should have been facing Mike Jamison this evening - "Pandemonium" Brian Styles!

TN: What that also means is that tonight big fella... You have the night off... You win your match by forfeit after your opponent quit AFTER the match was announced...

[An audible murmur is heard travelling around the arena...]

It also gives me pleasure to announce that the currently vacant IXWA Bad Ass Babe Championship will be presented to the winner of a match that will also take place on the Survival of the Fittest supercard and that is something that will go down in IXWA history as the Bitch slap Battle Royal... [Ryan Keys's week has been great so far... Nothing really held him down and he’s been on a roll wherever he went... Yet despite his success he has made it clear that is serious about his upcoming match... He has trained harder than ever before to prove his worth as a champion against Bishop Kroft... This was his chance to impress the CEO even more... And that would count for more screen time and crowd signing - maybe a photo shoot or two... He inhaled a sharp breath as he stood backstage, with his IXWA Light Heavyweight championship belt draped over his shoulder...]

Ryan: Guess who’s on his way to getting a promotion? It’s the camera guy, seriously that man deserves it... He’s everywhere... But in better news I get to wrestle this week again for IXWA Friday Night Beatdown and I couldn’t be more excited to be here... Sacramento has been nothing but nice to me and these fans deserve a good show... And they are going to get it, I can guarantee... Because I have my mind set on beating Bishop Kroft tonight, not only once, but twice... 

[He took a small step to the right, staring straight into the camera...]

Ryan: Bishop, how far do we go back? No seriously, how far do we go? I have no idea besides us being pulled apart in the intro video... Which as some nice angles I might add... Still it looks like you have a problem with me... I don’t think that it’s personal, but you might... Now besides me you are a very capable wrestler in this company... Maybe I am giving you too much credit by saying this but you are possible the one guy that can actually give me a hard fight... In theory you should be the champion that I should be challenging, but you aren't... Have you asked yourself why is that?

[Ryan questioned as he leaned back...]

Ryan: I have asked that question many times, I’ve asked a number of people and yet - I haven’t been given an answer... I’m still hoping to get one, and I am sure that I will tonight... When we step between those ropes I will get my answer after we go toe to toe and prove who’s the better man, prove who’s the #1 contender, and finally to prove that I can beat you twice in one night... Now that would give me an answer as to why you aren’t the top dog around here... Better yet it will give me a clear picture as to why you took so long to beat Mike Jamison...

[He shrugged...]

Ryan: Last time on Beatdown I faced three, count them, three! Champions in a fatal four way... Every one of them a champion by their own right and could have very much beaten me at any given moment... But it only took me twelve minutes and seven seconds to win the match... It didn’t matter who I pinned it was a champion that fought their hardest in that match... And then we cut to your match, a one on one match where you were in control most of it and it took you a whole twenty minutes to win it... Now what do you have to say for yourself, Bishop? You had one job and that was to beat one guy while I had to beat 3 champions... The numbers aren’t adding up here and I am a little disappointed... And hey, you should really be disappointed in yourself for that... I do think you're an amazing wrestler and considering, I guess, I'm one of the nicer guys around here, but I have to be the first one to tell you that I am not impressed with you... You are supposed to be at your peak while performing in every match, and what do you do? You toy around with your opponent... That is not going to fly with me... No... The second that you even think of playing with me is the very second that I drive my knee straight through your face... And I hope that you wouldn’t make the same mistake twice because I will be right there to end you a second time... I can promise you that...

[Ryan said in a serious tone before he moved on...]

Ryan: My goals are set to becoming the best in this company and I will only accept to face the best on my way there... All those words the IXWA were kind enough to censor at the end of the last show mean nothing to me if you can’t back them up... Now I know that you think you can but you have done a hell of a job not showing it... So I ask you, for once be a man and fight me like the champion you are supposed to be... 

[Ryan placed a hand on his hip as he continued to stare straight into the camera...]

Ryan: I am leaving this nice and short for you, Bishop... Just so you can understand what I am saying... This is you and me in that ring... Everything else means nothing and I demand a serious match with you... And if I don’t get that match, if you go out there and mock me by not taking this seriously I’ll have to add one more ended career to my title reign... It’s as simple as that... Call me selfish if you want, but I am here telling you that I want your all... And I expect nothing else... Oh - and that challenge I gave you... I expect to see it happen... Or else you will find yourself tapping out because you couldn't keep up... I’m sure you have heard that last part a bunch of times before - right?

[Ryan asked with a smile on his face as he adjusted the IXWA Light Heavyweight championship belt on his shoulder and looked down at it, before glancing at the camera and then finally just turned his back on the camera entirely before walking away...]
