IXWA Friday Night Beatdown - febRUARY 27, 2015
Jenny Craig Pavilion, San Diego, CALIFOrnIA
["O Fortuna" hits and the DOUBLE title holder, the only man in the IXWA to wear gold (come on Def BI Posse tag belts don't really count) walks toward the ring. Survival of the Fittest title over his left shoulder and the IXWA TV Title over his right. He climbs into the ring very, VERY happy with himself.]
RIC BEAUTY: Soak it in IXWA! I came here over a year ago and I said this would happen and it has! Survival of the Fittest Champion! TV Champion! And next Extreme Warrior Champion!
[Ric soaks in the glow of his own face reflected in his titles. Plural folks, TITLES!]
RIC BEAUTY: Now the powers that be say that I can only keep one title!
[Shaking his head.]
RIC BEAUTY: What the hell is that? I have to GIVE ONE UP!?!?! This is pro wrestling, and I don't give up a damn thing!
[Ric looks back up the aisle, toward the locker room.]
RIC BEAUTY: My Survival of the Fittest isn't going anywhere, because it is my ticket to the Extreme Warrior Title and I am not giving it up. But - I will make you a deal IXWA locker room. If any of you have the guts, the balls, I will put up the TV title right now against the next man who walks that aisle! Hawke? O'Malley? Def BI Posse? Anyone back there have any balls?
[Ric waits.]
RIC BEAUTY: Because I look at it this way, if you want it come out here and take it from me. Right now! Anyone?

RINGSIDE:
**********
[Suddenly, "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed begins to blare as Beauty stares form the ring. Out walks former IXWA TV Champion, Clayton Hawke. Hawke is dressed to fight as he is ready on the off chance the he is involved in a Survival of the Fittest match or - maybe he is out here to answer a challenge.]
TM: Looks like the very man Beauty beat for the belt is out here to want a shot at taking it back.
JT: He lost for a reason. If he does this, he'll regret it.
[Hawke walks down the aisle, staring at Beauty the entire way with a grin on his face. He reaches the ring and walks up the steps in the corner, stopping on the apron to work the fans near that corner.]
TM: Looks like the fans are urging him on and Ric Beauty may not feel very comfortable in there right now.
JT: He's the TV champ! He is always comfortable, especially against guys he has already beaten!
[Clayton enters the ring and pulls a microphone from his back pocket, turning to address the TV Champion.]
Hawke: Hello there, Ricky!
[A pause so he can gauge Beauty's reaction.]
Hawke: You have been grandstanding long enough! You have put the challenge out there and I figured that since I wasn't on the schedule, I'd help you out by taking care of that for you.
[Beauty looks angry at Hawke coming out in the first place as he mouths "How you going to do that?" at the young former champ.]
Hawke: I'll tell you what I'm going to do, Ric. I'm going to set you up with a match against someone who has the skills, build and desire to test you to your furthest and make this a real challenge. I'm going to set you up with a match against a man who has held the very title you are holding in your hands. I'm going to set you up in a match against.
[He turns quickly and literally stands right in front of Beauty, staring down at the shorter man.]
Hawke: ME!
[The crowd erupts as the two men seem to be jawing back and forth away form the mic's ability to pick it up. The two men keep jawing until Beauty pushes Hawke and Clayton responds by shoving the TV champ into the corner and flexing his massive arms as the crowd erupts!]
TM: Beauty better be careful here.
JT: Hawke is the one waking a sleeping giant in there.
[Hawke raises the microphone again.]
Hawke: So let's do this! You wanted a challenge, so here I am. I'm here and ready to beat you to a bloody stump to take that belt back where it belongs!
[Crowd pop.]
Hawke: So let's do this right now! Or are you chicken shit?!?!
[The crowd once again pops at Clayton's goading of the TV Champion.]
[Cue: "Can't Get The Best Of Me" by Cypress Hill as Neil Bonser steps out onto the entranceway.]
Bonser: You know what. If it makes everyone happy - do it. Do it now. But just remember Hawke - regardless of whether or not you win this match, as soon as the bell rings - you are NO LONGER involved in the tournament for the Extreme Warrior Championship.
[Hawke looks over to Bonser and nods.]
Bonser: Ring the bell. This one is on. Oh and Ric.
[Beauty looks up.]
Bonser: Regardless of the outcome - you are still facing Marcus O'Malley in tonight's main event.
[Beauty turns back to Hawke and walks straight into a big boot to the face!]
JT: NOOOOOOOOOO! Not the face!
[The eerie strums of a bass chord.]

[We go backstage where the McGraff twins are standing in front of an IXWA banner.]
MANDY: Our guests at this time are one of the contenders for the IXWA Tag Team Titles!
KIMBERLY: They are Mason Phillips and Stephen Dixon.
BOTH GIRLS: The Mason-Dixon Line!
[Both men walk into the picture wearing street clothes. Dixon is decked out in an IXWA Baseball jersey, blue jeans and tennis shoes. Phillips, with his hair pulled back in a ponytail, is wearing a black, grey and white striped polo shirt, tan khaki pants and loafers.]
KIMBERLY: First off Mason, let us give you our condolences for not advancing past the first round of Survival of the Fittest. That’s got to sting a little bit.
MASON: [nods] Yeah, I got to admit that it kinda sucked but that’s just part of the business. I have nobody to blame but myself for that. Just chalk it up to a rookie mistake that hopefully I’ll never encounter again. But that’s all in the past as tonight, Stephen and I have bigger fish to fry.
MANDY: That’s correct Mason. Tonight, you and Stephen will be facing the Tag Team Champions, the B.I. Posse in a non-title match. You guys have been waiting nearly two months for this match and tonight you finally get it. What are your thoughts?
[Dixon pauses for a moment before looking at Mandy and smiling.]
DIXON: Mandy, it’s like Christmas came early here in IXWA for Mason and I. Hard to believe that two months ago, Mason and I arrived here and accepted a challenge that should’ve been taken care of long by now. But instead, we have had to claw and scratch our way through several unnecessary obstacles just to get to this point. Posse, we’ve got nearly two months of pent up anger and frustration that has been bottled up that is fixing to get unleashed on you. You can thank those Double Entendres and them O’Malley’s for this predicament you have found yourselves in. But now you two will finally get to experience firsthand just why Mason and I ARE the best tag team in IXWA today and why we will be the ones to take those leather straps off your hands. It wouldn’t be this bad on you had they not gotten involved and stole our opportunity. Just remember boys, it’s not personal - it’s business.
[Dixon and Phillips look at each other and grin.]
DIXON: Always business.
[The duo walks away as Kimberly throws it back to ringside.]

[Scene opens inside the backstage area. “Hot Commodity” Charlie Kline and the “Golden Goddess” Gina Gordon stand in front of a large IXWA banner.” Gina has her arm around Charlie and rubs down his shoulder with her other arm. Kline stands wringing his hands together. His face is deadly serious and there are flashes of anger behind his eyes.]
CK: Survival of the Fittest. That’s the name of this tournament right Akira? Survival of the Fittest? Simply put it means that if you are the most apt to SURVIVE! You win this thing. Well let me tell you something Akita…
GG: Akira babe!
CK: It was a hack on his name babe, stay focused.
GG: Oh I get it! You were calling him a dog. [Rolls her eyes] Funny.
CK: Akira…
GG Better.
CK: I am a survivor. You might not think it because admittedly I am a child of privilege. Still what everyone doesn’t understand is being born of wealth isn’t an advantage in life. It means you are expected, no demanded to be BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE! Excellence is the only acceptable outcome. Truth be told I have had to be the best since building with blocks and you know what? I have done it. Time and again, over and over I have proven myself worthy of my name and my birthright. I have earned that golden spoon in my mouth…
GG: Golden spoon? OH! I get it! That’s me right?
CK: Of course. [Eyes Gina like a lion about to devour his prey] And I love to lick it clean.
GG: Charlie… [She blushes.]
CK: I have earned the excellence I exude. I am the fittest!
GG: Yeah you are babe!
CK: So to be forced to run into someone like you in this tournament. Someone who couldn’t hack it in what he perceives as the big leagues. So he figures he will get some traction and some wins by slumming it in the minors. It makes me sick. Know why? [Points at the banner] CAUSE IXWA IS NO MINOR LEAGUE PROMOTION! IT IS AS MAJOR LEAGUE AS MAJOR LEAGUE CAN GET! So to have some arrogant prick like you come down here to make a mockery of all of us who are clawing and fighting, doing our damn best to survive down here, makes me not only want to beat you Akira. It makes me want to hurt you.
[Kline steps towards the camera and grabs his arm]
GG: Babe?
[Kline pulls his arm away]
CK: It makes me want to embarrass you. You think that I am just some stepping stone, someone not good enough, a [Air Quotes] Minor Leaguer. That’s great. Friday Night Beatdown I will show you just like I showed…
GG: Don’t do this babe!
CK: I will show the world Major League Talent. A Major League Beatdown and Just how Big League I can be! Come on babe. We’ve got work to do.

SJD: This contest is a tag team match scheduled for one fall. Introducing first.
[The solo guitar lick from Diamond Rio’s “Big” begins to play as various colors of lights flash. When the piano solo begins, two men walk out on the stage. The smaller man, with a closely shaven head, 5-day old stubble on his face and a serious chiselled look on his face has his head covered by a hooded windbreaker jacket. He wears thigh length yellow shorts with black stripes down the side and heavily taped fists. He stands at the top of the ramp looking determined and focused. His tag team partner is a larger man: shoulder length blonde hair, light brown mustache and beard and blue eyes. Wearing a thigh length wrestling singlet, metallic and blood red in color with matching boots, kneepads, elbow pads and white taped wrists, the larger man stands there beside him, smiling and looking at the fans. He leans over and mutters something to his partner as the smaller man slightly nods in agreement.]

[Backstage in the O’Malley Brothers locker room, we see a close up shot of Marcus O’Malley sitting on a bench, wrapping his wrists with wrist tape. His wife and manager Jessica sits to the left of him, being supportive in a silent manner. A sober and serious look is on the face of Marcus as a hand gently pats his right shoulder. Marcus looks up to see his younger brother Anthony standing there, decked out in his wrestling attire.]
ANTHONY: You ready, bub?
[Marcus seems to just stare off into space and lets out a deep sigh.]
MARCUS: Unbeliev’ble. Six years later an’ Ric Beauty’s still tryin’ ta control our lives. I…….I just don’t know what ta think, ye know? I mean whatev’r decisions he makes t’night affects tha both o’ us an’ to be hon’st, I don’t know what I’d rath’r prefer.
[Jessica pats Marcus’s left leg as he reaches down to start tying his boots.]
JESSICA: What’s your gut feeling on him right now? I mean he seems like he’s happy to see us here. But I just don’t know if what he’s telling us is gospel.
ANTHONY: I know the feeling, Jess. That man is more unstable than a truck full of plutonium. I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt but now that he has lost the Television title – he’ll take it out on you, Marcus. What if our paths cross? Will he still be happy to see us? Or will he choose to let grievances from six years ago start eating him up again? Either way, I know there’s still one thing I have to do regardless.
ALL THREE SIMULATANEOUSLY: Stay away from Val!
[Anthony nods emphatically.]
ANTHONY: Yes, Yes I know….that woman is poison and highly addictive.
JESSICA: Right. And the last thing you need is to get around that again.
[Jessica turns and looks at her husband.]
JESSICA: Honey, maybe I’m wrong by what I am about to say but I’m gonna say it anyways. Remember the old adage that says “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” It’s no secret that Ric and Anthony have had their problems in the past and yeah, he may be right when he said he made the both of you stars. He says that he’s happy to see us. Do I think he’s changed? Do I think he’s a different man now?
[Jessica reluctantly shrugs her shoulders.]
JESSICA: I honestly don’t know, Babe. I know you can milk a deadly snake of all its poison as many times as you want but you can never remove its ability to strike. I think you need to remember that tonight.
[Marcus reaches down and pulls up his knee pads up from his shins.]
MARCUS: Six years. Six years I have waited ta get my hands on his scrawny neck. Maybe yer right, Jess’ca. Maybe yer wrong, too. I don’t know. All I know is that for tha time bein’, I am willin’ ta give’im tha ben’fit o’ tha doubt. But t’night, it’s person’l. I got six years ta take out on’im. An’ at that fin’l bell, if he beats me, I’ll be man ‘nuff ta raise his hand’n vict’ry. But if I beat’m, I hope he’ll be man ‘nuff ta do tha same fer me. Maybe aft’r t’night, we’ll be abl’ ta respect each oth’r finally.
[Marcus shakes his head.]
MARCUS: But I ain’t holdin’ my breath on it.
[Fade out.]

**********
Backstage:
**********
[The sold out crowd of 5,100 people that stampeded into the Jenny Craig Pavilion in the beautifully sunny city of San Diego, California were in preparation for IXWA's Friday Night Beatdown. Several matches would play out through the night that would eventually determine the next IXWA Extreme Warrior Champion at the upcoming super card event. One man who would now partake in the tournament would soon grace the front of a camera, in the backstage locker room of the gymnasium looking more intense and irate as ever before.]
[The camera opened up in the back locker room area and panned the empty area, skimming by padlocked metal lockers as well as a few open and filled with gear. The camera panned down and caught the glimpse of a mountain of muscle, and brawn. "Pandemonium" Brian Styles sat at the edge of the bench, rolling black tape around his wide right wrist with his left hand. His black boots laced to just above his ankles laid flat on the ground, as his breathing was not of normal nature. Styles huffed and puffed while angrily applying the black tape to his wrist, securing it so tight, that one would wonder if he'd lose circulation. His nostrils flared with each exhale as he gritted his teeth, wrapping his opposing wrist. His ice cold blue orbs glanced up as he cracked what seemed to be a smile seeing the camera, before nodding softly to himself and finally breaking the awkward silence of the locker room.]
BS: Brave man. You've got some balls.
[Styles finished wrapping his wrists and began pulling the draw string of his light weight black shorts tight, his breathing becoming more abnormal with each following action. Styles would finally grab a pair of black MMA gloves, and slide them over his hands, one at a time before securing them tightly by the Velcro strap. Styles would finally stand to his feet, a menacing look in his blue eyes as his nostrils flared while looking down at the camera man.]
BS: You're lucky I don't break you and your stupid camera right now. You're lucky, because I've got some things to get off my chest right now. Because, well, if I don't. there is a one hundred percent chance that I hospitalize Archibald Smythe when I take out unfiltered ruthless aggression on him for what happened at the last Beatdown.
[Styles' head snapped down and then up, visually angry as he made mention to the previous Beatdown card. Styles rested his massive forearm against one of the old school metal lockers, and rested his massive forehead against it as well before speaking softly.]
BS: Clayton Hawke – hmph - consider yourself blessed, and cursed. God must've been watching down on you, boy. You must have spent your nights and days praying for a chance, and that man upstairs gave you it. He blessed you with a victory which took away my Television title.
[Styles turned his head, still resting against the locker and looked to the camera. His voice now growing more agitated and angry.]
BS: He also cursed you. He's put a curse on you, like you wouldn't begin to comprehend. He's cursed your body to a lifetime of pain. He's cursed your eyes to a lifetime of tears. He's cursed your family to a lifetime of having to take care of you. But, Clayton. He's also cursed me. He's cursed me with guilt. Heh, guilt.
[Styles laughed before looking back at the locker as he breathed heavily once more, his muscular large body tensing up as his nostrils flared.]
BS: What he fails to realize. I don't feel guilt. I feed off of guilt. Eventually, the curse that God put on you is going to become a reality, and I will be the executioner. Your world will crumble, just as I crumble your bones. I'm not out here for a fitness competition, so I'm not going to flex. I'm not out here to take the SAT's, so I'm not going to think. Eventually, Clayton, I'm going to pop every single one of your muscles. I'm going to victimize you. I'm going to punish you. I'm here to ABUSE and CRUSH! When I say the time has come for your curse to become a reality, Hawke. I'm going to ABUSE and CRUSH YOU! I'M GOING TO VIOLATE YOU!
[Styles' pushed away from the metal locker and stalked the camera, obviously intimidating the camera man, who began to cower. Styles stood over the cowered down camera man and screamed down, as saliva wildly flew from his irate and passionate mouth onto the lens of the camera.]
BS: HEED THE WARNING! THE PAIN IS BACK! ARCHIBALD SMYTHE. I DIDN'T GET ENOUGH OFF MY CHEST!
[Styles turned slamming a black boot and denting the metal locker door, turning and ripping another off the hinges, throwing it across the locker room. His breathing slowed down, as he stalked back over the camera and grabbed the lens with one hand, clutching it tightly.]
BS: Hawke, did this to all of you. Every competitor in this tournament, send your medical bills to Clayton Hawke. I will be the NEXT IXWA Extreme Warrior Champion. Not because I deserve to be. Not because I want to be. But because there is no one that is going to stop me. It starts with you, Smythe. Kiss your loved ones good bye, because when I get into that ring. You are no longer a challenger. You are no longer an opponent. You are no longer in this tournament. You are just a victim. An eventually bloody, battered, and abused victim. What all you people need to realize, is simple. This is MY HOUSE, and it's time to collect the rent through your blood, tears, and urine. Get ready.
[Styles moved his face up close to the lens as his large mouth went wide as he screamed into the camera.]
BS: FOR THE PANDEMONIUM!
[The feed cut out as Styles ripped and cracked the lens off the camera, as the camera man could be heard letting out a shriek in the background.]
**********
Ringside:
**********
TM: Well I think that means Styles is on his way out here right now.
JT: I would hate to be Archibald Smythe right now.
[The scene cuts to the middle of the ring where “Sparkling” Joey Diamond is standing, resplendent in a dark blue suit with a gold IXWA logo embroidered on the breast of the jacket.]
SJD: This contest is scheduled for one fall and it is a quarter final match in the 2015 Survival of the Fittest tournament. Introducing first.
["Clubbed to Death" by Escala starts over the PA as "Aristocratic" Archibald Smythe walks out from the locker room area and stops to apparently revel in the negative reaction from the crowd.]
SJD: Hailing from Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England and weighing in at 243 pounds. "Aristocratic" Archibald Smythe!
[After a second or two, he sneers at the crowd and walks down to the ring and walks up the ring steps and climbs through the ropes.]
SJD: His opponent.
[As the crowd sits in their seats in the bleachers and ringside in folding chairs, they quickly turn to the parting curtain while Drowning Pool's "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" begins to rip over the venue's speaker system. Emerging from behind the black curtain would come the mountain of a man, with severe intensity in his blue eyes. Shirtless to show off his powerful upper torso physique, he threw up black and blue gloved hands as he began his thunderous stomp down the aisle way in a pair of black wrestling shorts while the soles of his black ankle high boots stomped onto the floor one step at a time.]
SJD: Hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada and weighing in at 277 pounds. He is "Pandemonium" Brian Styles!
[Reaching the ring he rolled his neck and gives a side to side bounce before turning quickly and heading to the steel steps, stampeding up them and onto the apron before ducking into the ring and bouncing side to side to loosen up with a look of fierce intensity in his eyes as the song faded out.]

TM: See – that’s why the IXWA is awesome. Beauty has wrestled for over 30 minutes tonight.
JT: Against probably two of the toughest guys on the roster no less.
TM: And although he only has one of the two championships he arrived with here tonight. He has shown why he is a force to be reckoned with in the IXWA.
JT: Yeah – he still has that Survival of the Fittest title opportunity. So – whoever wins the Extreme Warrior championship in a month’s time should be looking over their shoulder as soon as they re handed the belt.
TM: That’s all we have time for this week. So long folks.
JT: Until next time.

Right now! Anyone?

[Fade out.]

TM: Another prime athlete showing why he is in the IXWA. Charlie Kline is most definitely a Hot Commodity here.
JT: You are not wrong there.
TM: And we’re getting word that the IXWA’s resident career-shortener – Brian Styles is waiting backstage.
**********
Backstage:
